Just 70 miles north of Vancouver, BC is the resort town of Whistler, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics and one of North America’s largest ski areas. But Whistler is much more than just a place to ski or snowboard.

In fact, Whistler becomes almost like an entirely different place in the summertime, so this review will be broken into two parts: a winter edition and a summer one.

Overview

Occasionally the Sea to Sky highway that connects Vancouver with Whistler can be snowy and slick, but for the most part the road is generally easy to travel in the winter. Just keep an eye on snow advisories and winter storms and you will find travel along the corridor to be a breeze. The most challenging part for the driver is keeping their eyes on the road instead of drifting over to the peek-a-boo panoramic views of Howe Sound and mountain ranges that surround you on the drive.

There are four distinct resort areas in the Whistler Blackcomb mountain area. The first you will pass through on the drive is the Creekside area. Whistler mountain is massive, and access is fed from two points, the lowest being Creekside. In Creekside there is a bustling…
